U3A Pegasus is part of a global family of enthusiasts who enjoy sharing experiences and are keen to learn more. We are one of 84 U3A groups in New Zealand, 18 of which are in Canterbury. Globally there are about 3000 U3As mainly in Europe, the UK, the US and Australasia. We are voluntary, non-profit, independent organisations which aim to provide low-cost educational opportunities in a social setting.
Learn MoreOur U3A meets on the third Monday of the month at the Mt Pleasant Community Centre in Christchurch when we have a guest speaker. We also have many different groups which meet at other times during the month including art appreciation, book discussion, current affairs, history tours, documentary discussion, geology lectures, garden tours, botany lectures, DVD viewing events, writing classes, cycling groups and much much more. Every group has its own convenor and decides on its programme for the year.
View Our Interest GroupsWe have an open membership policy for people over 55, although we have a capped limit of 250 members. As a member you can join as many of the interest groups as you want to, so long as there are places available, and you can also attend the monthly meetings, which are held on the third Monday of every month.
